Joseph Holomuzki, 76, Mechanic
Joseph C. Holomuzki, 76, of Lorain, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at the Cleveland Clinic after battling cancer.He was born August 10, 1925 in Elyria Township and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Mr. Holomuzki served with the US Navy during WWII in the South Pacific as a Gunner's Mate Third Class.
He worked for the city of Lorain as a mechanic.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Ann (nee Rockas), son, Joseph R. Holomuzki of Ontario, OH, daughter, Judith Bics of Avon Lake; 3 grandchildren, brothers James Holomuzki and Robert Holomuzki, both of Lorain and sister Margaret Dallos of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Matilda (nee Nagy) Holomuzki and brother Steve Holomuzki.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 2, 2002 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain where funeral services will be held Monday, June 3, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Road, Elyria Township. The Rev. James Ols, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
