Stephen C. Horosz, 64, enjoyed traveling

Stephen C. Horosz, 64 of Amherst, formerly of Lorain, Ohio died Friday, May 31, 2002 in Cleveland Clinic Foundation following a lengthy illness.

He was born July 15, 1937 in Lorain, Ohio and has been an Amherst resident for 29 years.

He worked as a inspector for U.S. Steel for 28 years retiring in 1999. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1957 until 1959 and the Reserves until 1963. Mr. Horosz was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, in Lorain.

He enjoyed traveling, especially a trip to Europe, visiting Italy, Germany and Poland. He also enjoyed spending time with his only grandson Kyle, doing yardwork and was a sports fan especially the Cleveland Indians and Browns.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years. Connie (nee Ksiazk) Horosz son, Thomas Horosz of Amherst, daughter, Jan O'Malley of Avon Lake, grandson Kyle O'Malley, sister, Jane Fantin of Englewood, Florida and brother, Louis Kacso of Amherst.

Preceding him in death were his son James 1996, parents Stephen and Yolanda (Schafer) Horosz, brother William and sister Carol Astorino.

Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home 1939 Oberlin Ave. Lorain. Funeral service on Tuesday at 9:30 am at the funeral home will be followed by Mass of Christian Burial at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 418 W. 15th St. Lorain Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio.
