Katherine E. Konieczny, 85, enjoyed flowers, and dedicated to her family

Katherine "Katie" Evangeline Konieczny (nee Mohnickey), 85, formerly of Lorain died Wednesday June 5, 2002 in Heritage Health Care, Greenville, TN, following a lengthy illness.

She was born March 4, 1917 in Maple Ridge, PA moved to Ohio in 1929 and resided in Lorain until moving to Tennessee in 1992. While living in Lorain, she was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church and United Polish Club drill team. Katie was an excellent cook and baker, enjoyed her flowers especially roses, and was dedicated to her family.

Mrs. Konieczny is survived by daughters Dolores Konieczny and Kathleen DeAngelis both of Dandridge, TN, 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis in 1977, parents Peter and Maria (Barbuscak) Mohnickey, brothers Peter and Andrew, sister Mary Konesky and 2 great-grandsons.

Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home 1939 Oberlin Ave., Lorain. Where prayers will be Monday at 10:30 followed by 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church 418 W. 15th St. Lorain. Her nephew Rev. Ronald J. Mohnickey, T.O.R. of Herdon, Virginia will be the celebrant with the Rev. Robert J. Glepko, pastor con-celebrating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
