Virgin J. LoPresti, 62, enjoyed woodworking, riding his Harley, and auto racing

Virgil J. LoPresti, 62 of Lorain, died Saturday, June 8, 2002 in The Cleveland Clinic Foundation after a sudden illness.

He was born February 20, 1940 in Indiana, PA and had been a Lorain resident since 1966.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving between 1959 and 1962, stationed on the U.S.S. Sequoia in Washington D.C., where he also participated in President's Kennedy's inauguration. He worked in Quality Control for the Lorain Ford Plant for the past 36 years. He was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter, Lorain.

He attended the Pittsburgh Barber School where he received his barbers license. Mr. LoPresti was a member of the U.A.W. #425, the National Rifle Association and the Lorain Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed following the Pittsburgh Steelers and collecting Harley Memorabilia.

Survivors include, son, Christopher LoPresti of Wellington, OH: Daughter, Michelle Sealy of Lorain, father, Angelo V. LoPresti of Lorain, Brothers, Roger LoPresti of Lorain, OH and Carl LoPresti of Chenoa, IL, 1 Granddaughter and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Preceding him in death was his mother Frances T. LoPresti.

Friends may call Tuesday at the Catholic Church of St. Peter 3501 Oberlin Ave., from 4-4 and 6-8 p.m. Prayers will be said Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the church and a mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00. Reverend Michael Williamson, associate pastor will be celebrant and Reverend Carl LoPresti will concelebrate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery were the VFW post #451 will have military honors.
