John B. Hamilton, 91, World War II Veteran
John B. Hamilton, 91, of Lorain, died Monday June 10, 2002 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, following a brief illness.He was born on February 22, 1911 in Winfield, Kansas.
Hamilton served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, serving in China, Burma, and India 1941-1945.
Retired in 1976 after 33 years as a service manager with NCR in Lorain. He was also a member of the Church of St. Peter, Lorain, and a member of various Veteran Organizations.
Survivors include his wife Jean E. (nee Snyder) Hamilton. Sons James M. Hamilton of Sacramento, CA, and John R. Hamilton of Elyria, and grandchildren.
Preceded in death are his parents John H. and Edna C. (nee Franks) Hamilton, and brother Robert Hamilton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Reidy-Scanlan-Chambers Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, with prayers at 10:30 a.m. followed by a 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of St. Peter, 3501 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, with the Rev. G. Michael Williamson, Associate Pastor officiating.
Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
