Charles P. Klingshirn, 84, enjoyed gardening, growing berries, and traveling
Charles P. Klingshirn, 84, of Avon, Ohio passed away Wednesday June 19, 2002 at his home following a short illness.He was born October 25, 1917 in Avon where he resided his entire life. He was a 1936 graduate of Avon High School and served in the Army Air Force during World War II.
He was employed as a tool & die maker for Parker Hannifin, Elyria for 40 years before retiring.
Charles was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Avon and it's Holy Name Society; and the Ohio Fruit Growers Association.
He enjoyed gardening, growing berries and traveling.
Mr. Klingshirn is survived by his wife of 54 years, Vilma (nee Horwedel); a son, Bruce Klingshirn and a daughter, Susan Spaetzel both of Avon; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond of Elyria and Urbin of Avon; and a sister, Irene Wohlover of Sandusky.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Dale (1951); two brothers, Walter and Bernard Klingshirn; a sister, Virginia Perrin; infant grandson Ryan Spaetzel and his parents, Charles P. and Mary (nee Frank) Klingshirn.
Friends may call at the BUSCH-BURMEISTER-FAMILY CHAPEL, 32000 Detroit Rd. Avon from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday. Prayer Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday June 22 at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2640 Stoney Ridge Rd. Avon at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Thomas Cleaton will officiate Cemetery, Avon.
