Dorothey M. Waters, 70, Lifelong Avon Lake resident

Dorothey M. Waters (nee Vasich) - 70 of Avon Lake, passed away, Wednesday, June 19 at her home following an 8-month battle with cancer. Mrs. Waters was born, February 23, 1932 in Avon Lake, and had remained a life long area resident.

Mrs. Waters began her working career with Fruehauf Trailer as a receptionist before managing a restaurant for over 20 years. She later worked as a receptionist at DC 3 Inc. and recently retired from Heathsouth Corporation, where she also worked as a receptionist.

Mrs. Waters attended St. Vincent DePaul Church, Elyria and was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society and of the Altar Rosary. She was the Co-chairman of the Friday Bingo at St. Vincent DePaul Parish. She also cooked for the Fathers of St. Joseph.

Mrs. Waters is survived by her daughter Rebecca Waters of Sheffield Lake, Sons Michael and David of Avon Lake and Cliff of Lorain. She is also survived by he mother Eva (nee Krasnevich) Vasich of Avon Lake, her sister , Judy Schrift and 3 brothers, Steve "Gindy", Richard and Russell Vasich all of Avon lake, 4 grandchildren and a great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband Clifford and her family Mile Vasich.

Friends may call BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 163 Avon-Belden Rd. Avon Lake, from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 20 and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 21. Prayer service will be at the Funeral Home, Saturday, June 22 at 9:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria at 10:00 a.m. Fr. James R. Ols of the church will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Garden.
