Helen Sebok, 96, Enjoyed reading, crafts, embroidery, and crocheting
Helen Sebok (nee Hruska) 96 years of age, of Westlake, formerly of Avon Lake and Cleveland, passed away of natural causes, Thursday, June 19, 2003 at the Brighton Gardens Estates.Mrs. Sebok was born, May 5, 1907 in Cleveland and had made her home in Avon Lake since 1957 until moving to Brighton Gardens 2 years ago.
She was a graduate of Lincoln High School Cleveland. Following graduate she worked as a secretary for various companies. She was a homemaker, a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading and crafts, namely, embroidery work and crocheting.
Her husband of 52 years, Andrew J. Sebok, passed away in 1984. She is survived by a son Albert A. Sebok of Hudson, and daughter Vera H. Barnick of Avon Lake. Other survivors include 4 grandchildren, Barbara Ben-Ezra, James Barnick, Susan Navy, and Albert F. Sebok, and 8 great grandchildren. Besides her husband she is preceded in death by a brother Samuel Hruska and her parents, Samuel and Susan (nee Benco) Hruska.
Friends may call at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 32747 Lake Rd., Avon Lake, for one hour before an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service, Saturday, June 28, 2003. Rev. Lynn Schlessman of the church will officiate. Interment will follow in Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, Cleveland. Memorials may be forwarded to the Christ Evangelical Church.
