Benjamin Bradner, 88, enjoyed fishing, woodworking, horseshoes...

Benjamin Bradner, 88, of Lorain, died on Thursday, June 20, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, West, following a sudden illness.

Born November 9, 1913 in Elyria, he moved to Lorain 39 years ago.

He was employed as a machinist at Moen Inc., Elyria, for 40 years, retiring n 1973.

Ben was a member of Western Steel Group Union, the Jolly 60's of Lorain, Lend-A-Hand of Elyria, and the Polish American Citizen Club.

He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, horseshoes, garage sales, bowling, and gardening, which he was well known for his tomatoes.

He is survived by his son: Benjamin J., of Burbank, CA, daughter: Benay Fertal, of Canal Fulton, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years: Margaret (nee Krajec) in 1995, brothers: Pat, Frank, Ed, Stanley, and Jack, sisters: Marie Martin, Helen Major, and Madge Rader.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 4-7 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria, Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Laurie Miller, of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
