Ernie C. Tomblin, 50, Veteran of US Army

Ernie C. Tomblin, 50 of Sheffield Lake, OH died early Thursday morning at E.M.H Regional Medical Center in Elyria after a brief illness.

Mr. Tomblin was born on December 15, 1951 in Logan, West Virginia and has lived in the Lorain area since 1984. He was a veteran of the US Army.

He was a paint department technician with Ford Motor Corp-Ohio Truck Plant in Avon for the past 26 years. He was an avid computer enthusiast, enjoyed all types of older music, but his favorite hobby was caring for his dog "Lady."

He is survived by his wife Paula K (nee Evans) Tomblin to whom he was wed on Nov 8, 1971. He is also survived by three sons, Shawn L. Tomblin of Sheffield Lake, Carlos D. Tomblin of Tampa, FL, Jason M. Jackman of Elyria, three grandchildren, eight brothers, James Nelson, Sonny Tomblin both of Ravenna, OH, Auddie Nelson of Dingess, WV, Horbert Nelson of Lorain, OH, Kenneth Tomblin of Logan WV., Earl Tomblin, Jr, Vernon Tomblin, Olson Tomblin all of Cleveland, three sisters: Holene Clay of Mantua, OH, Ramona Jarrells and Barbara Randolph both of Ravenna, OH.

Mr. Tomblin was preceded in death by a daughter LaKrista D. Tomblin in 1981, his parents, Earl and Verchie (nee Sargent) Tomblin, brothers, Ward Nelson and Eugene Nelson, sisters: Lorene Teague, Revel Nelson, Lucinda Tomblin, Wanda Tomblin and Mary Lou Tomblin.

Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH on Sunday, June 23, 2002 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be on Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Mr. James Hiser officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Amherst Township with full military honors provided by the VFW Post 451 of Lorain.
