Tony Mannillo, 85, enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, mechanical repairs and race cars
Tony Mannillo, 85, of Lorain, died Thursday June 20, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center in Lorain after a brief illness.He was born October 9, 1916 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Mr. Mannillo was a graduate of Lorain High School.
He worked for the Bay Village School System as head of the maintenance department retiring in 1986.
Mr. Mannillo enjoyed bowling, gardening, fishing, mechanical repairs and took great pride in his yard. He worked on a pit crew for his son and brother's drag racing cars and race cars. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Aurilla (nee Oberla); son Thomas A. Mannillo of Lorain; daughter Carole d. Futrall of Lorain; 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons; brother Joseph Mannillo and sister Jeannette Mauk, both of Lorain. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Rose (nee Vitelli) Mannillo, brother William Mannillo and Charles Mannillo and sister Mary Delmonico and Christina Kuznar.
Friends may call Friday 5-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Steve Buckner, pastor of Cornerstone Community Church in Amherst, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
