Ernest P. Nyfenger, 97, enjoyed volunteering, delivering for Meals on Wheels, gardening and walking
Ernest P. Nyfenger, 97, of Avon and formerly of Avon Lake, Ohio passed away Saturday June 22, 2002 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. He was born November 29, 2002 in Cleveland and moved to Avon Lake in the late 1970's coming from Canadotta Lake, Pennsylvania and the East Side of Cleveland. He was a shipping clerk for Davis Pain, Cleveland. Ernie was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cleveland and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Avon Lake. He enjoyed volunteering and delivering meals for Meals on Wheels at Beachpark Tower, Avon Lake, gardening and walking.Mr. Nyfenger is survived by four daughters, Faye Henry (residence unknown), Patricia Jones of Sandusky, Judy Griffin of Sandusky, Ernestine Hasen of Castalia and a son Lawrence Nyfenger of Clyde, Ohio; a step-son John Rebar of North Royalton and a step-daughter Barbara Merando of Florida; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two brothers Edward and Robert. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Rebar Nyfenger (nee Pankuch) in 1995, a grandson Charles Edward; a sister, Ruth Schuh and three brothers, Harry, Fred and Elmer Nyfenger and his parents, Ernest and Fredrika (nee Tropf) Nyfenger.
Friends may call at the BUSCH-BURMEISTER FAMILY CHAPEL, 32000 Detroit Rd. Avon from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday. A Memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. George Poholod officiating. Cremation by Busch Crematory. Committal services will take place at a later date at Lutheran Cemetery, Cleveland. Memorials may be forwarded to a favorite charity of the donor's choice.
