Marshall A. Ward, 15, enjoyed baseball, basketball, music and wrestling...

Marshall A. Ward, age 15, of Lorain, died on Sunday, June 23, 2002 suddenly.

Born on August 27, 1986 in Lorain. He has been a lifelong resident here. Marshall was a sophomore at Southview High School.

He was a member of Sonshine Baptist Church, Lorain.

Marshall enjoyed playing baseball, basketball with his church, music and watching wrestling.

He also volunteered for many church activities.

He is survived by his mother: Mona (nee Thompson), brothers: Mark Jr., Matthew, Michael, all of Lorain, sisters: Melinda Ward-Green and Angelina Perez, both of Lorain, nieces, Sharae Green, whom he helped raise and Jalyn Ward, both of Lorain, maternal grandparents: Lyle Thompson and Patricia (nee Lake) Toth, of Lorain, paternal grandmother: Ann Ward, of Vermilion, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father: Mark Ward Sr., in 1989, paternal grandfathers: Carlton Ward, uncle: Timothy Thompson.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 27, 2002 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church, 2314 Leavitt Road, Lorain. Pastor Dave Straub, of Sonshine Baptist Church, Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
