Ruth M. Brown, 88, Professional Red Cross worker during WWII in Europe

Mrs. Brown became a professional Red Cross worker during WWII in Europe. While working with the Red Cross she met her husband John. She was a teacher with the Cleveland Public Schools, teaching Kindergarten at Gladstone Elementary School.

Mrs. Brown also served as a Girl Scout Leader and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She continued to volunteer with the Red Cross.

Mrs. Brown is survived by a daughter, Ruth Mary Smith of Ft. Worth, TX and Barbara Ann Brown of Denver, CO. Other Survivors include 2 grandsons and 7 great grandchildren.

A memorial Service was held in San Antonio, Tuesday, July 2.

Mausoleum services will be Friday, July 5 in Lakewood Park Cemetery 22025 Detroit Rd., Rocky River at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are by the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, Avon Lake. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the donor's choice.
