Ruth M. Brown, 88, Professional Red Cross worker during WWII in Europe
Ruth M. Brown, (nee Lentz), 88 of San Antonio, TX, formerly of Cleveland and Avon Lake, passed away June 29 at Air Force Village II Retirement Center.Mrs. Brown became a professional Red Cross worker during WWII in Europe. While working with the Red Cross she met her husband John. She was a teacher with the Cleveland Public Schools, teaching Kindergarten at Gladstone Elementary School.
Mrs. Brown also served as a Girl Scout Leader and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She continued to volunteer with the Red Cross.
Mrs. Brown is survived by a daughter, Ruth Mary Smith of Ft. Worth, TX and Barbara Ann Brown of Denver, CO. Other Survivors include 2 grandsons and 7 great grandchildren.
A memorial Service was held in San Antonio, Tuesday, July 2.
Mausoleum services will be Friday, July 5 in Lakewood Park Cemetery 22025 Detroit Rd., Rocky River at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are by the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, Avon Lake. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the donor's choice.
