Marianne Matotek, 54, enjoyed bowling, golfing, exercising and perennial flower garden
Marianne Matotek (nee Skoda), 54, of Lorain, died Monday July 1, 2002 at her home after a lengthy illness.She was born March 24, 1948 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident. She was a graduate of Lorain High School and the Northern Institute of Cosmetology in Lorain.
Mrs. Matotek worked as a hairdresser for 34 years and most recently worked at Donita's Sunsational Styling Systems in Lorain.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Lorain. She was past president of the St. Anthony School P.T.U. and helped organize the 200 Club dinner at the church.
She enjoyed bowling, golfing, exercising and her perennial flower garden.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years Tom, daughters: Heather Rogers of Parma Heights and Amy Matotek of Syracuse, New York: grandson Nicholas Rogers of Parma Heights: sister Susan Muska of Amherst and brothers Sam J. Skoda of White Bear Lake, Minnesota and Steve Skoda of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her parents Sam T. Skoda and Theresa "Raz" (nee Kurjan) Skoda.
Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1305 E. Erie Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Chuck Henkle, associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
