Leona Fazio, 77, enjoyed playing bingo, ceramics, and all forms of collectibles

Leona Fazio (nee Zientarski), age 77, of Lorain, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002 at her residence following a sudden illness. She was born April 4, 1925 in Allison, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Lorain since 1943 coming from Pennsylvania.

A parishioner of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, her hobbies included playing bingo, working with ceramics, and all forms of collectibles.

Mrs. Fazio is survived by her sons: Dennis and John both of Amherst, Mark of Darien Illinois, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sister: Irene Fazio of Lorain, and brother Steve Zientarski of Lorain.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Joseph in 2001, a granddaughter: Wendy Fazio in 1982, by her parents: Stephen and Bridgett (nee Goretsky) Zientarski, a brother: Bernard in 1991, and a sister: Gertrude V. Tominac in 1994.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by her funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church - 2143 Homewood Drive - Lorain. The Rev. Thomas Smith, pastor of the church will preside. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery - Lorain.
