Albert J. Bohnert, 77, WWII Army Veteran

Albert J. Bohnert, 77, of Avon passed away Thursday July 4, 2002 at his home following a lengthy illness (Complications of Arthritis). He was born August 23, 1924 in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Avon in 1950. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in Europe from 1943-1946 and received three purple hearts. He was a 1955 graduate of Fenn College (now Cleveland State University) where he received a business degree. He was employed as an inventory controller for Fruehauf in Avon Lake and retired from Ceilcote in Berea in 1980. Albert was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Avon where he ran Bingo for many years and was a member of Holy Name Society. He was also a lifetime member of the V. F. W. Post 7035 Avon. He enjoyed golfing and gardening.

Mr. Bohnert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances H. (nee Paulovics); three sons, James (Sandra) of North Ridgeville, Robert (Mary) of Avon and Michael David of Elyria; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren and a nephew. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard A. (1991); a brother, Jackson Bohnert and his parent, Jacob M. and Christina Rose (nee Tobert) Bohnert.

Friend may call the BUSCH-BURMESITER FAMILY CHAPEL , 32000 Detroit Rd. Avon from 3-9 p.m. Friday. Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home Saturday July 6 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church, 33601 Detroit Rd. Avon on at 10:00 a.m. Fr. John Misenko, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Jaycox Rd. Avon where military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 9871 North Ridgeville.
