Margaret L. Unkuri, 91, enjoyed needlework and sold many projects at crafts shows

Margaret L. Unkuri, (nee Czebak), age 91, of Lorain, died Thursday July 4, 2002 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born June 1, 1911 in Lorain and had been a life-long resident of the city.

A 1928 graduate of Lorain High School, Mrs. Unkuri was a parishioner of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain. She had been employed as and assembler at Western Automatic of Elyria and also as an associate with the Fisher Brothers Supermarkets formerly of Lorain.

She was an avid participant of league bowling and competed in numerous tournaments throughout the Midwest. She also enjoyed needlework and offered many of her projects for sale at area crafts shows.

Survivors include a daughter: Mrs. Gerald (Venla Jean) Urig of Avon, a sister: Elizabeth "Betty" Sulkoski of Lorain and a niece: Joyce Hambly of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years: John A. Unkuri in 1978, by her parents: Joseph and Margaret (nee Locsos) Czebak, by a brother: Joseph Czebak, and a nephew: Alvin Hribar in 2002.

Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. in the Glunva-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain. The Rev. G. Michael Williamson, associate pastor of the Catholic Church of St. Peter will officiate. Burial will following Calvary Cemetery - Lorain.

The family suggests memorials in her memory to the Avon Oaks Activity Fund - 37000 French Creek Road - Avon, Ohio 44011 or the charity of the donor's choice.
