Alan R. Lash Jr., 60, U.S. Air Force Veteran

Mr. Lash had been a lifelong Lorain resident. He was born on February 2, 1942 in Lorain.

He retired in 1993 from the Heating and Cooling Department at US Steel Company in Lorain after working for them for 27 years. Mr. Lash also was a past member and past President of the Lorain County City Club. He is also a member of the US Steel Local 1140, Veterans Foreign War 451, and Lorain Member South Shore Conservation in Vermilion. From 1972-1997 he owned and operated Lash Refrigeration Co. in Lorain.

Mr. Lash was also an U.S. Air Force Veteran serving in Vietnam.

His survivors include his wife of 37 years Donna (nee Spicer) Lash of Lorain, daughters, Sally Lash of Lorain, Anne Lash of Whitehall, Ohio, and Lainie Leboda of Avon, Ohio, and 3 grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceded in death are his parents Alan R. Sr. and Una Mae Lash.

Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at The Reidy Scanlan Chambers Funeral Home, 2150 Broadway, Lorain. The Reverend W. Kent Joy, Pastor, Newcombers Chapel United Methodist Church, Massillon, OH officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Interment Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, Ohio. There will also be full military honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 451, Lorain.
