Genevieve Holiday, 87, Lifelong Lorain Resident
Genevieve Holiday (nee Brzezinski), 87, died Friday July 12, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital & Surgical Center in Lorain after a brief illness.She was born January 15, 1915 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Mrs. Holiday worked as a seamstress for Joseph & Feiss Clothiers in Lorain for 17 years before retiring.
She was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain.
She enjoyed gardening, walking and bowling.
She is survived by her son Ron Holiday of Lorain, grandsons Michael P. Holiday of Lorain and Mark A. Holiday of Cleveland Heights and sister Florence Zacharias of Valley City. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley F. Holiday in 1998 and daughters Marlene Ann Holiday in 1945 and Charlotte A. Holiday in 1994, parents Josef and Victoria (nee Zajac) Brzezinski and brother Chester Brzezinski.
The family will receive friends Monday 2-4 & 7-9 at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral mass at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain. The Rev. John Kline, pastor emeritus of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lorain and the Rev. Mr. Robert Dybo, deacon of Nativity BVM Catholic Church, will concelebrate. Burial will following Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
