William F. Gonzalez, 44, Former Lorain resident

William F. Gonzalez, age 44, of West Palm Beach, Florida, formerly of Lorain, died on Friday, July 12, 2002 at Hospice of Palm Beach, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on October 8, 1957, in Lorain. He was a 1973 graduate of Southview High School and attended Lorain County Community College where he achieved an Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts. William moved to Florida in 1987.

He was employed at General Electric Medical System, in Jupiter, Florida for the past 13 years. He was a loyal Cleveland Indian fan and accomplished musician, playing the guitar, piano, saxophone and bass fiddle.

He was a former member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain.

William is survived by his two sons: Alex and Eric Gonzalez, both living in Florida, 5 brothers: Juan A., Angel, and Osvaldo, all of Lorain, Victor and Philip, both of Youngstown, 3 sisters: Julia Gonzalez, Nilda Gonzalez, both of Lorain and Lucy Gonzalez, of Honolulu, Hawaii and former wife: Rosa (nee Pabon).

His parents precede him in death: Juan A. in 1987 and Raimunda (nee Morales) Gonzalez, in 1982, sister Neida Mortazavi in 1987.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2002 at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 a.m. mass at Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
