Frank P. "Fritz" Tomazine, 86, enjoyed fishing and hunting
Frank P. "Fritz" Tomazine, 86, of Lorain, died Sunday, July 14, 2002 at Welsh Nursing Home, Rocky River, following a lengthy illness.Born March 10, 1916 in Lorain, he has lived here his entire life.
In 1941, Frank founded the Fritz's Garage on E. 28th St., in Lorain and owned and operated the garage until his retirement in 1981.
He was a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Lorain. He was also a member of the Eagle's Club in Elyria, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Angelina E. (nee Gentile), his son, Frank "Butch", of Lorain, daughter Carol Calabrese, of Westlake, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael Tomazin, and mother Frances (nee Malovasic) Tomazin, in 1957, a brother, Michael Tomazin in 1993.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 16th, from 5-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Wednesday, July 17th, at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, Lorain. Rev. Fr. Patrick Shields, pastor of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
