Kenneth Rataj, 54, US Army Veteran
Kenneth Rataj, age 54, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at his residence, following an illness of several years.He was born on December 19, 1947 in Hamtramck, Michigan. He graduated from Clearview High School in 1967.
Kenneth served in the United States Army as a private first class in the Special Forces as a Green Beret in Vietnam.
He worked as an independent contractor in the remodeling and floor covering business before becoming ill.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years: Margaret Mae (nee Love), daughter: Tanya Rataj, of Grafton, brothers: Philip "Tim", of West Palm Beach, FL, Ron, of Mentor and Richard of Sheffield Township.
He was preceded in death by his father: George in 1997, his mother: Margaret Rataj (Dziedzic) on July 13, 2002, sister: Donna in 1959, and brother: James in 1974.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2002 at 12:39 p.m. at Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain is handling the arrangements.
