Mary E. Slauter, 73, enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and her pets
Mary E. Slauter (nee Ramirez), age 73, of Lorain died Tuesday July 16, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center after a lengthy illness. Born January 15, 1929 in Lorain, she had previously resided in Florida for many years before returning to Lorain 13 years ago.She was a past parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, having attended school there and later graduating from the former Lorain High School. She also attended Lorain County Community College.
She worked for many years as a bookkeeper/comptroller for various automobile dealerships in Lorain as well as Florida. She was also employed in the engineering dept. as a secretary/draftsman for the former Kenco Pump Division of American Crucible and at the Speedway Mini-Storage in Amherst as its office manager.
She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and her pets.
Mrs. Slauter is survived by her brother: Raymond G. Ramirez of Annapolis, Maryland; brother: Carl G. Ramirez (city unknown); 3 nieces and 4 nephews; several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Ronald Slauter in February of 1991; parents Ramon and Agnes (nee Majkut) Ramirez; sister: Carlene Sorino in 2000; nephew: Robert Sorino Jr. in 1987.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel.
