William G. Hight, 59, Enjoyed drawing and yard work

William G. Hight, 59 years of age, and a resident of Elyria, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2002 at Elyria Memorial Hospital, ICU, following a 6-year illness.

He was born March 25, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised and lived in Aurora, IL until entering the service at 22 years of age. He lived in North Ridgeville for 17 years and has been a resident of Elyria for the past nine years.

He worked for Central Reproduction in Cleveland for 35 years retiring in 1999 as a Printer and Press Repairman. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Aircraft Carrier Independence. He was currently attending Trinity Evangelical Free Church, Amherst, and had attended Church of the Open Door for 18 years. He was active with his church and family. He enjoyed art particularly drawing and doing yard work.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Sherry L. (nee Cole), his daughters Rebecca Miller and Jennifer Norris both of Elyria and Kimberly Hight at home, two grandchildren, his sisters Kathryn Lonsway of Aurora, IL and Cynthia Rudiger of Portland, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Therisa (nee Spang), his brother Charles Height in 1994.

Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hemple Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. N. James Greenawalt, will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon.
