Alice A. Geisel, 59, enjoyed gardening, her children and grandchildren

Alice A. Geisel, age 59, of Lorain, died Wednesday July 22, 2002 at St. John & West Shore Hospital in Westlake, Ohio after being stricken with an apparent heart attack. She was born October 5, 1942 in Holidaysburg. Pennsylvania and had been a resident of Lorain since the early 1950's.

She was a 1962 graduate of Clearview High School and had been employed as a sales associate for K-Mart Stores in Amherst and Lorain; she retired from that position in 2001 following twelve years of service with the company.

Mrs. Geisel was an active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lorain, where she taught Sunday School and Summer Youth Bible School, she also served as a volunteer with the church's Meals-On-Wheels program as well as serving as a Bread Visitor welcoming members to the church.

She was also an active in Boy Scouts of America where she had formerly served as Den Mother and Pack Leader of Cub Scout Pack #337 based at Meister Road School; she later served as Committee Member of Boy Scout Troop #331 based at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, and had also served as Day Camp Coordinator at Camp Firelands.

She was past President of the Mesiter-Road School PTA.

Her hobbies included flower gardening as well as her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years: Charles W. "Chuck" Geisel, Sr., sons: Charles W. Geisel, Jr. of Lewisville, Texas, Joseph M. and James C. Geisel, both of Lorain, 5 grandchildren, and a sister, Jammie M. Szabo of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Melvin F. and Ruth M. (nee Fisher) Jenkins, and by a brother: Melvin F. Jenkins, Jr.

Friend may call Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in First Evangelical Lutheran Church - Sixth Street and Washington Avenue with Rev. Jimmy W. Madsen, co-pastor of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens - Avon.

The family suggests that memorials in her name to the charity of the donor's choice.
