Hiram W. Bradford, 98, Enjoyed fishing and traveling

Hiram W. Bradford, 98, of Oberlin passed away Monday, July 22, 2002 at the Welcome Nursing Home, Oberlin following a short illness. He was born November 16, 1903 in Clyde, Ohio and lived in Oberlin and Wellington area most of his life. He was employed as a custodian in the Zoology and Biology Department of Oberlin College, retiring in the late 1960's and worked at the front desk of the Oberlin Inn part-time following his retirement for a number of years. Hiram was a memb3er of First United Methodist Church of Oberlin, the Southern Lorain County Historical Society and the Masonic Blue Lodge (Monicello #244) of Clyde since 1926 and received his 75-year pin last year. He enjoyed fishing and traveling in his Air Stream camper.

Mr. Bradford is survived by his son, Donald (Shirley) of Oberlin, four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Thalia (nee Hammond) in 1989; four brothers and two sisters and his parents, Warren and Clair Bradford (nee Pettys).

A memorial service will be held at the East Oberlin Community Church, 43709 Old Route 20, Oberlin on Saturday, July 27 at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Frank Radcliffe will officiate. Cremation by Busch Crematory. Private committal services to be held at Ellsworth Cemetery, Ellsworth, Ohio at a later date.
