Marjorie D. Kennedy, 82, Lorain resident since 1958

Marjorie D. Kennedy, age 82, of Lorain, died Saturday July 27, 2002 at Meridia Huron Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio after a year long illness. She was born October 12, 1958 in Buffalo, NY and had been a resident of Lorain since 1958.

Mrs. Kennedy was employed as a nursing supervisor and was employed at St. Joseph Hospital in Lorain for more than 25 years. She also worked at Avon Oaks Nursing Home for several years retiring from the hospital.

She was also a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was a member of the church council, Ruth Circle, and was a driver for Meals-On-Wheels Program at Church Alpha Pi Chapter - Sigma Kappa (Nursing Sorority). Mrs. Kennedy was also a member of the Osseo-Mystic Art-Tyrian #386 Order of Eastern Star in Buffalo, NY.

Her survivors include son Rev. Dr. Timothy Kennedy of Yorktown Heights NY. Daughters Elizabeth Nelson of Wellington FL, Linda Willis of Walden NY, Gail Kennedy of Cleveland, Sandra Kennedy-Hoelscher of Seattle WA, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. Brothers Dr. Roger Dayer of Buffalo NY, Donald Dayer of East Aurora NY, and Larry Dayer of Foxboro MA.

Preceded in death include her husband Lester J. Kennedy in 1970, sister Phyllis Dayer and parents Elmer and Elva Dayer.

Memorial gathering will be held Sunday 7-9 p.m. at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 6th and Washington in Lorain on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Jimmy Madsen. Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family suggests the memorials be sent to First Evangelical Lutheran Church and Washington Ave., Lorain Ohio 44052.
