Clara Anna Eberhardt, 89, Enjoyed working outside, gardening and flowers
Clara Anna Eberhardt (nee Rick), 89 years of age, and former resident of South Amherst, passed away Monday, August 12, 2002 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Avon following a lengthy illness.She was born February 6, 1913 in Lorain. She was raised in Amherst and was a resident of Amherst and South Amherst until 1992 where she moved to Avon to be with her daughter.
She was employed at the Nordson Corp., Amherst for 28 years, retiring in 1978 as an inspector. Prior to Nordson, she was employed at Bodmanns Dry Goods, Amherst for four years. Mrs. Eberhardt was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in South Amherst. She was an excellent seamstress and made clothes for her family and friends. She enjoyed working outside, gardening and flowers.
Survivors include her daughter Susan Moore of Avon Lake, two grandchildren, two great grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Fred A. Eberhardt in 1969; by her son Louis Eberhardt at age 6; by her parents Louis and Esther (nee Gyuricza) Rick; by her brothers Louie, John, George, and Steve Rick; and by her sisters Mary Kochman and Helen Bramwall.
Services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst with the Rev. Paul D. Eaton, pastor of St. John United Church of Christ, South Amherst, officiating.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. John's United Church of Christ; 416 Leonard St., South Amherst 44001.
Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
