Thomas Jerome Higgins, 36, Accomplished a Marketing Degree and Law Degree
Thomas Jerome Higgins, 36 years of age, and a resident of Columbus and former resident of Amherst, passed away Monday, September 9, 2002 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus from complications from a car accident.He was born May 29, 1966 in Lorain where he lived until age seven when he moved to Amherst. He was a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School with the class of 1984. He had been a resident of Columbus for eight years.
He was self-employed attorney for eight years. He received his Degree in Marketing from the Ohio State University. He received his Law Degree from DePaul University, after which he passed the State Bar in 1993. Thomas was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst.
Survivors include his parents Mayor John G. and Marilyn C. (nee Stern) Higgins of Amherst, his brother Timothy Higgins of Lakewood; his sister Mary Lynn Woodyard of Amherst; and two nephews.
Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Hemple Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church; 200 St. Joseph Dr., Amherst with the Rev. Fr. Lawrence Martello, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
