Mary Matchison, 87, Excellent Cook and Seamstress

Mary Matchinson (nee Kozopas), age 87, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, September 24, 2002 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.

Born on September 14, 1915 in Toledo, Ohio, she had moved to Lorain in 1986 from Pomona, California, where she lived a greater part of her life.

Mary was a former member of the Campers Club in California and the Methodist Church in Pomona, CA. She was an excellent cook and seamstress.

She is survived by her sisters, Anne Pasky, Kathryn Washio, Rose Hencheck, Carol Delaney, all of Lorain, Sally Jenkins of Oberlin and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joseph A. Matchison in 1995, parents, Dimitri and Rose (nee Radyk) Kozopas.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 27, 2002 from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 12:00 Noon at the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Dale Warrick, pastor of Cornerstone Methodist Church, Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp.
