Helen Stella Szekely Kryling, 84, Enjoyed Gardening, Farming and Raising her Children and Grandchildren

Photo of Helen Stella Szekely Kryling Helen Stella Szekely Kryling (nee Sender), 84, of Vermilion, died Friday, October 04, 2002 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, after a short illness.

She was born October 19, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio and has been a life long area resident of Vermilion.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Vermilion, where she was a former member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Ladies Columbia. She enjoyed gardening, farming and raising her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Kudela of Vermilion; 2 sons, Joseph Szekely of Kansas City, Missouri and Jim Szekely of Vermilion, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 step sons, Bud Kryling of Bellevue, Ohio and Jim Kryling of Cleveland, and step daughter, Jeanette Filson of Wauseon, Ohio and 2 sisters, Cecelia Juda of Cleveland and Florence Kraft of Olmsted Township, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph L. Szekely in 1957 and her second husband, S.H. Kryling in 1993; brothers, Steve, Henry and Leo Sender; a sister, Dorothy Sender and her parents, Peter and Bernice (nee Chojnacki) Sender.

Friends may call Sunday, October 6, 2002 from 5-8 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Prayers will be said on Monday at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Mary Catholic Church, Monday October 7, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Steven Blum officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
