Antal "Tony Red" Ferenzi, 82, Enjoyed Writing Songs
Antal "Tony" "Red" Ferenzi, 82, of Elyria Township died unexpectedly Thursday October 10, 2002 at his home.He was born January 6, 1920 in Lorain and had resided in Elyria Township since 1965 moving from Lorain.
Mr. Ferenzi served with the US Navy during WWII as a cook on his ship.
He worked at US Steel in Lorain as a boiler tender and retired in 1982.
Mr. Ferenzi was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township and St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Lorain.
He enjoyed fishing, singing and writing songs and had several songs copy righted.
He is survived by his daughter Diane Ferenzi-Solomon of Elyria Township, sister Erma Alicca of Lorain, 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Agnes (nee Hritz) on March 22, 2002, son Gerald on January 22, 2001, parents John and Julia Ferenczi, brother Steve Ferenzi and Mike Ferenzi and sisters Yolanda Ferenzi and Alvira Ferenzi.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd., Elyria Township with the Rev. James Ols, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
