Theresa A. Wilgor, 80, Enjoyed spending time with family

She was born July 15, 1922 in Wampum, Pennsylvania in Lawrence County, PA coming to Ohio in 1924. She attended St. Mary's School in Elyria. She lived in South Amherst from 1961-1980 moving to Amherst where she lived until a year ago. For the past year she had been a resident of Oakridge Nursing Home in Westlake, Ohio where family and friends took care of her.

Theresa was a housewife and mother. She was a long time member of Nativity B.V.M. In South Amherst and most recently had attended St. Peter's Catholic Church, Lorain. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons Andrew J. Wilgor of Lorain and David A. Wilgor of South Amherst, 3 grandchildren and her brother Harry Laker of Elyria.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 13 years, James H. Wilgor in 1969, and by her brothers Andrew and John Laker. Other survivors include sister Sophia Laker and Genevieve Burgett and her parents Walter & Celia (nee Meckolacyk) Laker (Olaksiak).

Friends may call Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hemple Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Closing prayers will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. from Nativity B.V.M. 333 South Lake St., South Amherst. The Rev. Father Denis St. Marie, pastor of Nativity B.V.M. will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Elyria.
