Venerando "Venny" Irizarry, 85, Laborer
Venerando "Venny" Irizarry, age 85, of Lorain died Monday, October 14, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital and Surgical Center, West, following a sudden illness.Born December 1, 1916 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he moved to Lorain in 1947.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel and enjoyed dominoes, fishing, cooking and horse racing.
He is survived by his two sons: Edwin Irizarry and Alberto Irizarry, both of Lorain, 3 daughters: Juanita Senquiz and Milagro Bigio both of Lorain and Genoveva Irizarry, of Rio Piedra, Puerto Rico, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, brother: Jose Irizarry, of Utuado, Puerto Rico, and 2 sisters: Carmen Cuevas, of Bayamon, Puerto Rico and Julia Orama, of Tampa Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Marcelino and Juanita (nee Montalbo) Irizarry, 11 brothers and 1 sister.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 16, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
