Yolanda V. Goforth, 73, Long Distance Operator
Yolanda V. Goforth (nee Zsucs), 73 of Sheffield Village, died Saturday, October 19, 2002 in E. M. H. Regional Medical Center, Elyria following a lengthy illness.She was born in Amherst January 25, 1929. She was a Lorain resident for 28 years until moving to Sheffield Village in 1957.
She was a graduate of the Lorain High School class of 1947-B.
Mrs. Goforth was employed as a long distance operator for the Lorain Telephone Company.
She was a member of the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ, Lorain, where she was a member of the Busy Martha's and she helped make noodles. She loved music. She played the organ. She enjoyed playing bingo.
Among the survivors is her husband of 53 years Robert G. Goforth of Sheffield Village, sons Robert D. Goforth of Vermilion and Dale R. Goforth of Sheffield Village, daughter Kathleen A. Lingenfelter of Cleveland, 5 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Julia (nee Valintine) Szucs, brothers Joseph and John and a sister Ethel Szuces Julia Venzel.
Friends may call Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, Lorain, Ohio. Friends may also call Wednesday in the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ, East 31st Street and Globe Avenue, Lorain, 10:00 AM until time of funeral service at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Zoltan Sandor Kelemen, Pastor of the West Side Hungarian Reformed Church, Cleveland will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
