William Horvatich, 88, Enjoyed Garding, Fishing and Reading
William Horvatich, 88, of Lorain, died on Friday, October 25, 2002 at Lorain Manor Nursing Facility, following a short illness.He was born on December 11, 1913 in Madison, WI, moving to Lorain in 1934.
William was employed in the coke plant heater department at US Steel for 40 years, retiring in 1975.
He was a member of the St. John Roman Catholic Church, Lorain, Croation Fraternal Union Lodge #1236, and the United Steel Workers Union Local 1104.
He enjoyed gardening, fishing and reading.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna M. (nee Naples), son, William Horvatich, Jr., of Sylmar, Ca, daughter: Katherine Lautzenheiser, of Ft. Collins, CO, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and brother: Stephen of Lakewood and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 27, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 28, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Rev. William Schill, deacon of St. Stanislaus Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
