Lydia Arocho, 81, Enjoyed Sewing and Cooking
Lydia Arocho, (nee Vargas), 81, of Lorain, died on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at Community Health Partners Hospital, West, Lorain following a lengthy illness.She was born on March 22, 1921 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, moving to this area in 1949.
She was a member of Templo Emmanuel, Lorain.
Lydia enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years: Angel Luis Arocho, sons: Louis Arocho, Edwin Arocho, Sr., both of Lorain, daughter: Nellie Arocho of Lorain, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, sisters: Ester Vargas, Ruth Gonzalez and Maria Vargas, all of Utuado, Puerto Rico.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Rev. Jaime and Ramona (nee Maldonado) Vargas.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 3, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Templo Emmanuel de las Asambleas de Dios, 4230 Clinton Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the church, Rev. Daniel Reyes, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain is handling the arrangements.
