Rosemarie Zajac, 70, Real Estate Agent
Rosemarie Zajac, (nee Puskavich), age 70, of Lorain died Thursday, October 31, 2002 at Ohio Extended Care Center, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.Born November 9, 1931 in Wheeling, West Virginia, she graduated Triadelphia High School before coming to Lorain in 1951.
Mrs. Zajac worked as a real estate agent for various local realtors for many years. She owned and managed rental properties. Prior to this, she worked as a type setter for the Lorain Journal. Active in politics for over 45 years, she worked on many democratic campaigns. She also sold Avon products for over 50 years. In the 1960's she was active in urban renewal and the renovation of South Lorain. For many years, she worked as a secretary for the United Auto Workers Union Local 780 in Elyria.
A member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, she was active in many different church activities. She was also a member of the former Twin Cities Kiwanis.
Surviving are her sons, John M. and Gregory, both of Lorain, daughters, Barbara "Bunny" Resch, Diane "Diddy" Mateo, Sharon Johnson, and Linda Kelly Delgado all of Lorain, step daughters, Maryann Forrest, of Lorain and Linda Jones of Alexandria, Virginia, 15 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, as sister, Pauline Kirker, of McMechen, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, John in1994, son, Lawrence, in 1967, parents, Matthew Puskavich in 1972, and Kate (nee Rendulic) Puskavich in 1992, brothers, Leonard in 1988, John in 1992 and a sister, Patricia Mezlak in 1988.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 3, 2002 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday, November 4, 2002 at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
