Leo H. Niskey Jr., 70, Avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and gardening
Leo H. Niskey Jr., age 70, of Lorain died on Friday, November 1, 2002 at 9:40 p.m. at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph due to a lingering illness.Born on March 10, 1932 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and he had live in Lorain most of his life.
Leo was employed as an Auto Mechanic with various Auto Shops in the area for 40 years. He also is a Korean War Army Veteran. He attended St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Elyria. He was also a longtime member of the Erie Game Association and St. Lad's Club. Leo was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and gardening.
He is survived by his spouse Jo Ann Niskey (nee Walters) who have been married for over 45 years; sons, David Niskey of Lorain, Wayne Niskey of Sheffield Township; daughters Jean Farner of Danville, OH and four grandchildren. Other survivors include brother Jack Niskey of LaGrange; sisters Harriet Williamson of Florida and Dolores Bodnar of PA.
Preceded in death include parents Leo and Pearl Niskey and sister Vivian Hura.
Visitations will be held Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home 2920 Broadway Lorain, OH. Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. prayers will be held in the funeral home followed by 10 a.m. mass at St. Vincent De Paul Church with Fr. James R. Ols officiating and a military service for the Disabled American Veteran, Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20. The cemetery will be the Ridge Hill Memorial park in Amherst Township.
