Lauretta H. Murray, 81, Accomplished seamstress and devoted wife and mother
Lauretta H. (nee Hoffman) Murray, 81 of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of Lorain died on Monday evening, November 11, 2002 at the Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh following a long illness.Mrs. Murray was born on November 9, 1921 and was a resident of the area most of her life, moving one year ago to Pittsburgh to be near her daughter. She was a 1940 A graduate of Lorain High School. She was a dental office receptionist the majority of her working career but most recently was a homemaker. She was an accomplished seamstress, a devoted wife and mother. She was also well known for her exceptional taste in fine things.
She is survived by two daughters, Kim Ickes of South Parl, PA and Barbara Ridenbaugh of Pickerington, OH, 4 grandchildren, and a brother George Hoffman of Elyria, OH, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Murray in 1990, parents, Gustave R. and Marie (nee Alexander) Hoffman, brother Carl Hoffman and sister Alma Zieba.
Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, on Thursday, November 14 from 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be on Friday November 15, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dale Warrick, pastor of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
Family suggests that memorials may be given to the charity of the donor's choice in her memory.
