Trinidad "Joe" Garcia, 75, Enjoyed Playing Cards
Trinidad "Joe" Garcia, age 75, of Lorain, died on Monday, November 11, 2002 in the emergency room at St. John West Shore Hospital, following a lengthy illness.He was born on August 9, 1927 in Bridgeport, Texas. He had lived in Lorain since 1950 and before that he lived in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Trinidad was employed as a Euclid truck driver for US Steel for 27 years, retiring in 1974.
He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local 1104 and enjoyed playing cards and socializing with family and friends.
He is survived by his sons: Michael Garcia, of Lorain, David A. Garcia, of Lorain, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, sisters: Mary Garcia of Ft. Worth, TX, Helen Hernandez of Ft. Worth, TX, and Esther Solomon, of La Mesa, CA.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Clara (nee Comer) in 1998, and parents: Miguel and Carmen (nee Castillo) Garcia and sister: Bernice Lechuga.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 13, 2002 from 6-8 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Gilbert Silva, pastor of Open House Praise of International, Lorain, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill memorial Park, Amherst, Twp.
