Steve Boyza, 95, Served in the United States Coast Guard and WWII Veteran
Steve Boyza, 95, of Sheffield Lake, died Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at his residence following a short illness.He was born on April 29, 1907 in Kisrad, Ung Megye, Hungary. He came to the United States in 1921, settling in Lorain before moving to Sheffield Lake.
He served in the United States Coast Guard as an apprentice seaman, first class and a fireman, second class during World War II.
He was employed as a tool and die maker in the press metal dept. at the General Motors Plant, Parma for over 20 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #1005 and the Hungarian Young Men's Sick Benefit Society.
He is survived by his cousin: Rose Toth, of Columbia Station. He was preceded in death by his parents: Steve and Julia (nee Vaszil) Boyza, sister: Emma Takacs and two stepbrothers: Mike Molnar and Arthur Miller.
Burial will be Friday, December 6, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain is handling the arrangements.
