Jennie Rokusek, 96, Enjoyed gardening, traveling, and visiting family

Jennie Rokusek (nee Bartos), 96, of Avon Lake passed away Sunday December 1, 2002 at her home.

She was born January 6, 1906 in Prague, Czechoslovakia and became a naturalized citizen of the United States at the age of 7 in 1913. She moved to Avon Lake from Westlake 30 years ago. Jennie was a homemaker.

At one time she was a member of the Westlake Rose Grower's Association. She enjoyed traveling and Sunday drives. She also enjoyed yard work, gardening and visiting her late brother in Chardon.

Mrs. Rokusek is survived by two nephews, William F. Bartos of Concord, Ohio and Earl Smith of Warren, Ohio; three nieces Sandra Stanek of Windom, Ohio; Judy Duerr and Laura Duerr both of Streetsboro. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; a brother, William Bartos; a sister, Mary Domin; a nephew, Edward Bartos; a niece, Ruth Smith and her parents, Fred Bartos and Helen Bartos-Vojtik.

Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Rd., Avon Lake from 6-9 p.m., Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2002. Rev. William Grant, pastor of Lake Shore United Methodist Church, Avon Lake will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted. Memorials may be forward to a favorite charity.
