Robert D. Kohls, 52, Lorain Resdient

Robert D. Kohls, age 52, of Lorain, died suddenly on Sunday, December 1, 2002, in the Emergency Room at Community Health Partners Hospital, Lorain, following a short bout with cancer.

Born July 9, 1950, in Avon, he has lived in Lorain since 1977. He served as a Sergeant in the US Army from 1969 through 1977. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal with one loop, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal-Korea and one Service Stripe.

He was currently employed as an installer/repairperson for Centrurytel, Lorain for the past 25 years.

He was an active member of Cornerstone Community Church, Amherst, where he was on the worship team and served as a sound person and percussionist.

Surviving is his wife of 23 years, Gail (nee Rothgery), 2 sons, John, of Toledo, and William, of Lorain, a daughter, Alexandra Kohls, of Lorain, his parents, Donald and Dorothy Kohls, of Avon, brothers, Tom, of Delaware, Ohio, and Richard, of Elyria, a sister, Eileen Dunham, of Indianapolis, IN.

Memorial services will be Friday, December 6th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria, and Saturday, December 7th, at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, 111 S. Lake St., Amherst. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain is handling the arrangements.
