Scott Edward Stransky, 30, Enjoyed fishing, racing dirt bikes and an avid Ohio State football fan

Scott Edward Stransky, age 30, of Holland, Ohio, died on Tuesday, December 3, 2002 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on US Route 224, in Henry County.

He was born on September 22, 1972 in Lorain, where he lived most of his life. He moved to Clermont, Florida in 1995 and lived there until moving to Holland several months ago.

Scott graduated from Lorain Catholic High School in 1990. Following high school, he attended Ohio State University and received his Bachelor Degree in Business in 1995.

He worked as a claims representative for Progressive Insurance Company for 3 years. While living in Florida, he worked at Environmental Care in Orlando.

A continued enthusiast of his alma mater, he was an avid Ohio State University football fan. He also enjoyed fishing and racing dirt bikes.

He is survived by his parents, Edward S. Stransky, Jr. and Jean Marie (nee Zaworski), of Amherst, a brother, Brian M. Stransky, of Durham, North Carolina; and his paternal grandmother, Victoria Stransky (nee Vincek), of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Stransky, in 1971; his paternal grandfather, Edward S. Stransky, Sr. in 1988, his maternal grandfather, Dr., D.L. Zaworski, in 1975 and his maternal grandmother, Vera (nee Lauer), in 1973.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 6, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Services will be on Saturday, December 7, 2002 at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst. Rev. Fr. Lawrence Martello, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
