Lyle E. Thompson, 69, Volunteer at Lakeview Plaza Kitchen

Lyle E. "Shorty" Thompson, 69, of Lorain died on Friday, December 6, 2002 at Cleveland Metro Hospital in Cleveland, OH unexpectedly.

Mr. Thompson was born on July 6,1933 in Spencer, OH and lived in Lorain all his life. He attended Clearview High School. He had been employed as a crane operator at the former American Shipbuilding and most recently was an apartment building manager until he retired. He enjoyed volunteering in the Lakeview Plaza Kitchen.

He is survived by his two daughters, Mona Perez, and Michelle Ward, his two sons, Mark Thompson, and Michael J. Thompson Sr. all of Lorain, 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, his brother Donald Thompson of Elyria, and his sister Donna Yubarra of Lorain.

He is preceded in death by a son, Timothy Thompson in 1998, two grandsons, Joshua Thompson in 1986, and Marshall Ward in June of 2002, his parents Jack and Dorothy (nee Leslie) Thompson, his sister Georgia "Sis" Demich, his brothers Jim Thompson, Norman Thompson and Robert "Bob" Thompson.

Friends may call at Schwartz-Spence-Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, OH on Tuesday, December 10, 2002 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. There will be no services.
