Howard R. Madding Sr., 77, Enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and auto racing
Howard R. Madding Sr. 77, of Elyria, formerly of Ward, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2002 at Avon Oaks Skilled Nursing Facility. Mr. Madding was born, February 18, 1925 in Ward and has lived in the area 55 years.Mr. Madding worked for the American Burial Vault Company, Cleveland for 36 years. After retiring in 1994, he went to work for the Henkel Corporation where he had worked for the past 8 years. He was a member of the VFW and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, auto racing, and home projects.
Mr. Madding is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edith (nee Chapman). Other survivors include children Eva Wingler, Nancy Lang, Betty Schwandt, Debra Ellis, Ilean Causey, and Howard Madding Jr., 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Charles Madding. He is preceded in death by a brother Wayne and parents, Ray W. and Idell (nee Colbert).
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm, Sunday December 15. Funeral services will be Monday at the funeral home at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Garden.
