John Leo Nagel, 63, Enjoyed spending time with his nephews and helping them with there 4-H projects
John Leo Nagel - 63 of Avon, passed away Monday, February 24 in Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness, FL, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Nagel was born on December 19, 1939 in Elyria and had lived his entire life in Avon. In recent years he had spent the winter months in Inverness, Florida.Mr. Nagel was an Operation Engineer with Local 18 where he ran heavy equipment. He was a member of the American Legion, #211, Avon Lake, The Moose Lodge, Lorain and the Eagle Aerie in Inverness, FL. He enjoyed spending time with his nephews and helping them with 4-H projects.
He is survived by his sister Mary Morahan of Avon and a brother Carl J. Nagel of Canton and many Nieces and Nephews, great Nieces and Nephews. Mr. Nagel is preceded in death by his parents, Aloys and Emelia (nee Rieger) Nagel and brothers, Lester, Christopher and Elmer.
Friends may call at the Busch-Burmeister Family Chapel, 32000 Detroit Rd., Avon from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, February 28. Prayer services will be at the funeral home, Saturday, March 1 at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church 33601 Detroit Rd., Avon at 10:00 a.m. Fr. John Misenko of the church will officiate. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Church Cemetery, Detroit Rd., Avon. Memorials may be forwarded to the Holy Trinity Church Building Fund.
