Matilda M. Bobel, 86, Enjoyed baking, bingo and being around people
Matilda M. Bobel (nee Gregor), 86, of Lorain, died Wednesday March 5, 2003 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a long illness.She was born May 12, 1916 in Sharon, Pennsylvania and had resided in Lorain since 1941.
Mrs. Bobel worked as a housekeeper at Holy Trinity Catholic Church when Monsignor Kandrick was pastor.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the church Mother's Club, Altar & Rosary Society and Holy Trinity Seniors. She was a member of the American Slovak Club and St. Ann Lodge #114. She enjoyed baking, bingo and being around people.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years Frank S. Bobel, daughter Maryann Malanowski of Elyria, son Frank A. Bobel of Vermilion; 4 grandchildren; sisters Maggie Matey of Michigan and Joanne Salter of Florida. She was preceded in death by parents Andrew & Mary (nee Ulichney) Gregor and brothers Jack Gregor, Andy Gregor and Albert Gregor.
The family will receive friends Friday from 3-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where the Holy Trinity Altar & Rosary Society will recite the rosary Friday at 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2428 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The Rev. David Novak, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
